We are a Baptist Church. We realize that does not tell the whole story. To say that we agree with many who hold to a “Reformed Theology” does not tell the whole story either.
History bares record to the fact that from Apostolic times there have been local Churches that hold a Biblical position of “Believers Baptism’. That is, that a person is to be Baptized as an act of obedience upon conversion. We, therefore, do not trace our history through the Reformation as a Reformed Church. We do however hold to those “Biblical Truths” stated by those of the Reformation period.
As a Baptist Church we are local and autonomous. There is no ecclesiastical authority that dictates church policies or doctrine. The Bible is our only rule of faith and practice.
“Reformation Theology” contains much with which we agree namely the “Doctrines of Grace” and it contains many things with which we do not agree namely infant baptism, church organization and the doctrines of end time events.
We agree with “Reformed Theology” as it pertains to the “Doctrines of Grace”. Meaning, we believe in the Sovereignty of God in all things, the election of those for salvation, salvation by grace through faith and not of works and the eternal perseverance of those saved.
